I think I have finally figured out a way to express what I don’t like about River in series 6
At first, River was an amazing mix of Amy and Rose. Badass, woman hear me roar. … By the end of s6, she’s Bella Swan. Yikes.
Ha! Yeah, right.
Nice try, Doctor. But that’s not really gonna work, is it?

don’t need rules | Doctor Who (by KatrinDepp)
This is THE BEST fan video.
This is the best fucking amazing fan video I’ve seen yet!
My only complaint: TOO SHORT! I just want more!!!
Yeah, definintely mixed signals there
I have to say, I’m not that impressed with the latest DW.
It was fun and funny, but completely out of left field.
I mean, their daughter grows up with her own parents?
River uses all her regeneration energy in one go to save the Doctor?
River’s one thought is murdering the Doctor and finding new clothes?
Her personality is almost exactly the opposite of River’s current personality. (Except for the recklessness which she seems to never lose)
The episode itself is entitled ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’ and yet Hitler figures into the first five minutes of the plot. So is ‘killing Hitler’ supposed to be a metaphor for killing the Doctor? And is that even an appropriate metaphor to be drawing between the two?
If Mels as a child growing up with Amelia and Rory was shown from the get-go, then I would have believed it a lot more, even though the audience probably would have figured it out by episode 6 of this season. In proper story-telling, Mels should have interacted with Amelia or Amy during the fifth season, so that we are introduced to the character. But even when the Doctor is not around at all, we don’t meet her at all.
But without the prior knowledge, this episode feels more like an information dump that we are just supposed to accept.
Sorry, but no thanks. I would have preferred an actual story-line.
“Mum, keep an eye on him?”
Amy winks.
“Rory, do you mind going down there with your daughter?”
…“Hang on kid, I’m coming too!”
