I have finished ep4 of Blackpool

Go watch it now. No, seriously. Just do it. It is the most fun an adult show has ever had while blending genres.

Of course, some of the musical numbers are kinda silly. I can’t remember which one it is, but it was so cheesy that I just laughed all the way through it.

Then there was that number at the end of one of the first two episodes where Davids Morrissey and Tennant are singing ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking’ to each other, and dancing like a couple, then DTens is pushed down to one knee… Ending with Tennant and Morrissey facing off in the last scene.

It’s also quite brutally honest, working with issues like age-gap relationships and abusive fathers.

Then there’s all that hot sex Tennant gets to have. Oh my God. Wow. A+ to you, Dave!

I also can’t help comparing Tennant and Morrissey’s characters to Gene Hunt. They can be both brutal, liars, and manipulators. It’s like watching Gene Hunt vs Gene Hunt. Who’s gonna win?

And Tennant as a DI is the sexiest character-job they’ve ever thought up for him. He must play coppers more often. Maybe if Ashes to Ashes gets a sequel, he could be the new guy. Wouldn’t that be lovely?

Oh, and that kid who played a drug dealer on Ashes to Ashes plays Tennant’s right-hand man. And Sarah Parish who played the Empress of the Racnoss in DW. She looks so different.
